With busy summer days at work, it was time Hubby and I caught up for a little lunch date.

And Yoko Sushi seemed to be the pick of the day.  Hot day, sweet rice, cool seaweed salad… aaaah life was looking good!

Walking in, there was lots of different sushi packs all lined up and waiting.  The typical cut rolled maki sushi, delicious looking nigiri, inari, bento boxes…. mmmmm sushi heaven!

After going for a few of our favourites, we sat down at one of the many indoor tables and got ready to tuck in!

Our Lunch selection

yoko-sushi

We each got a Chicken Katsu Bento box ($11.50 each), a pack of Karaage Chicken to share ($6.20) as well as a 3 pack of Inari ($5.50)

Now, if you’ve never had a bento box, you have to try them!  There are a few different ones available such as the Chicken Katsu, Karaage Chicken, Teriyaki Chicken and Teriyaki Salmon.  As you can see, we love the Chicken Katsu.

Chicken fillet crumbed with panko breadcrumbs, deep fried, sliced into strips with a dash of teriyaki on top.  Covering a soft sticky bed of rice and partnered with a delicious Japanese dressed coleslaw, wakame seaweed salad plus japanese pickles.  Yum, yum and more yum!!!

The Karaage Chicken comes with japanese mayo for dipping.  Yep, nawty but ooooh so nice!

And the inari is fried tofu wrapped around sesame seeded rice.  Nice and cool after the hotter bento box and karaage chicken.

Always a great sneak away lunch date, that leaves you feeling satisfied and ready to carry one with the busyness of the day

So what do we reckon?

Service – A walk past the chilled display, picking what you like out, following the quickly moving line to make your way to a smiling worker at the counter.  Always a happy greeting, even at times a personal hello from the owner Yoko.

Presentation of venue – Lots of indoor seating, table and chairs as well as some bar stool and counter seating.  2-3 outdoor tables also on the pavement outside the cafe.  Very tidy, easy to move, clean and modern with a nice touch of Japanese styling.

Presentation of food – Fresh, fresh and fresh!  Often able to get the karaage chicken and bento boxes still warm from just being cooked.  Easy to view, easy to choose and mouthwateringly tempting.

Length of meal – 20 minutes.  It was a quick lunch after all lol

Total cost – $34.70
